Service Policy

Effective date: 1 January 2026  ·  Last updated: September 2026

1. Scope of Services

FASMALA Consultancy Services (referred to as "FASMALA", "we", "us", or "our") provides a range of professional consultancy and business support services, including but not limited to:

  • Bookkeeping and financial records management
  • Business setup, registration, and application support
  • Call center and customer service operations
  • Business advisory and strategic planning
  • Operations and back-office administration
  • Hospitality consultancy and guest experience support
  • Training and capability development

The specific services, deliverables, timelines, and fees applicable to each engagement will be agreed upon in writing (via email, signed agreement, or service proposal) prior to commencement. This Service Policy applies to all clients, unless superseded by a specific written agreement.

2. Engagement Terms

All engagements begin upon receipt of written confirmation from the client (including email approval or submission of our sign-up form) and payment of any required deposit or first invoice.

Retainer-based services (such as monthly bookkeeping packages) operate on a rolling monthly basis unless a fixed-term agreement is in place. Project-based engagements are governed by the scope, timeline, and milestones outlined in the service proposal.

FASMALA reserves the right to decline or discontinue any engagement that conflicts with our values, capacity, or applicable law.

Clients are responsible for providing accurate, complete, and timely information required for the performance of services. Delays caused by incomplete information or non-responsiveness may affect delivery timelines without penalty to FASMALA.

3. Payment & Invoicing

Invoices are issued at the beginning of each service month (for retainer services) or as milestones are reached (for project work). Payment terms are net 7 days from the invoice date, unless otherwise stated in writing.

All fees are quoted and payable in Maldivian Rufiyaa (MVR) unless an alternative currency is expressly agreed in writing. International payments may be subject to bank transfer fees, which are the responsibility of the client.

Late payments beyond 14 days from the due date may incur a late payment fee of 1.5% per month on the outstanding balance. FASMALA reserves the right to suspend or pause services pending payment resolution.

All prices are exclusive of applicable taxes (including GST where applicable under Maldivian law). Tax amounts will be stated separately on invoices where required.

4. Confidentiality

FASMALA treats all client information as strictly confidential. We will not disclose, share, or use client business information, financial data, or proprietary information for any purpose other than the delivery of the agreed services.

Our team members are bound by confidentiality obligations. Confidentiality obligations survive the termination of any engagement and remain in force indefinitely unless the information becomes publicly available through no fault of FASMALA.

Clients agree to treat any methodologies, frameworks, templates, or proprietary processes provided by FASMALA as confidential and not to disclose or replicate them without written consent.

5. Data Protection

FASMALA collects and processes client data solely for the purpose of delivering and administering our services, and for communicating with clients about their engagements.

We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal and business data against unauthorised access, loss, or disclosure. We do not sell, rent, or share client data with third parties except where required by law or as necessary to deliver the service (e.g., with authorised accounting software providers).

Clients may request access to, correction of, or deletion of their personal data at any time by contacting us at sales@fasmala.com. We will respond to such requests within 14 business days.

By engaging FASMALA, clients consent to the collection and processing of their data in accordance with this policy and applicable Maldivian data protection regulations.

6. Intellectual Property

All intellectual property created by FASMALA prior to an engagement (including methodologies, templates, frameworks, and training materials) remains the exclusive property of FASMALA.

Work product created specifically for a client during an engagement (such as custom reports, business plans, or process documents) is owned by the client upon full payment of all outstanding fees related to that engagement.

FASMALA retains the right to reference the general nature of work performed for clients (without disclosing confidential information) for portfolio and business development purposes, unless the client has expressly requested otherwise in writing.

7. Limitation of Liability

FASMALA provides professional advisory and support services. While we take care to ensure the accuracy and quality of our work, we do not guarantee specific business outcomes or financial results from the services provided.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, FASMALA's total liability to any client in connection with any engagement shall not exceed the total fees paid by that client in the three months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

FASMALA is not liable for any indirect, consequential, or incidental losses, including loss of profit, revenue, or business opportunity, arising from the use of or reliance on our services.

Clients are responsible for verifying the accuracy of all bookkeeping records and financial documents prepared by FASMALA before submitting them to regulatory authorities.

8. Termination

Either party may terminate a retainer-based engagement by providing 30 days' written notice. Project-based engagements may be terminated by mutual written agreement or upon a material breach of terms by either party.

In the event of termination, the client remains liable for all fees incurred up to the effective termination date, including work in progress. FASMALA will issue a final invoice covering these amounts within 14 days of termination.

FASMALA may terminate an engagement with immediate effect if the client fails to pay outstanding invoices after two written reminders, engages in conduct that is harmful, abusive, or unlawful, or provides materially false information.

Upon termination, FASMALA will provide the client with all completed work product and accessible data. Confidentiality obligations continue to apply after termination.

9. Code of Conduct

FASMALA is committed to conducting business with integrity, professionalism, and respect. We expect the same from our clients.

Clients are required to:

  • Provide accurate and truthful information relevant to the engagement
  • Communicate respectfully with FASMALA team members
  • Not request services that are unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful
  • Honour agreed payment terms and communication timelines

FASMALA will not engage in or facilitate any activity that violates Maldivian law, including but not limited to money laundering, tax evasion, or fraud.

10. Governing Law

This Service Policy and all engagements between FASMALA and its clients are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Maldives.

Any dispute arising from or in connection with our services that cannot be resolved through good-faith negotiation shall be submitted to the jurisdiction of the courts of the Republic of Maldives.

11. Changes to This Policy

FASMALA reserves the right to update this Service Policy at any time. Material changes will be communicated to active clients via email at least 14 days before they take effect. The latest version of this policy is always available on our website.

Continued engagement with FASMALA after the effective date of any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
